Matteo, Ricci (1562 - 1610)

Ricci is known for having opened the way for European technical culture in China.
He compiled works in Chinese on science and technology based on European knowledge. Some of his pupils become Christians, the most important being Xu Guangqi, with whom Ricci translated Euclid's Elements in chinese.
