PARODI, Hippolyte (1874 - 1968)

French engineer and Polytechnique.

It is mainly devoted to electrification, including the railways. After directing the work of the Paris-Quai d'Orsay in Juvisy, it installs a number of hydraulic and thermal plants in the south of France.
Then he heads the network electrification of the Orleans Company and installs the first major traffic lines: Paris-Orleans-Vierzon and their extensions in Toulouse and Bordeaux. Preparing large hydroelectric programs in the southwest region of France, he established the first 220 000 V transmission line existing in Europe. He is also researching the vibrations of mechanical transmission systems in electric locomotives. He was a member of the Academy of Sciences.
