Lanci, Baldassarre (1510 - 1571)


 
Inventor, designer

Baldassarre Lanci was an italian architect and engineer. He was specialist in military architecture and hydraulic engineering. He is rememberd for his plan of a new fortificated city “Terra del Sole” (The city of the sun) designed for The Duke of Tuscany Cosimo de Medici. He designed some building machines and some measuring instruments like the “Distanziometro” (distance meter).
