When gear 1 rotates about axis A, the tip of claw a describes a complex curve in which it is inserted into a perforation of the film, advances the film and is withdrawn from the perforation. Axis 0 of rocker arm 2 is mounted on bar 7. The path described by the tip of claw a can be varied by changing the position of point 0. This is done by adjusting bar 7 by screw 8.
