Giovanni Battista Benedetti was an italian expert in mathematics, geometry, mechanics and astronomy in the XVI century. He studied the first book of Euclid's Elements under Niccolo Tartaglia. In his works was also interested in perspective. It is remembered for his studies of mechanics, that preemped theories of Galilei and Newton.
