This small optical apparatus contains a metal support for holding a lamp. It has a graduated disc on which the diopters are placed. Each diopter is held in place by a screw in its centre. The disc can turn, and it is thus possible to measure the angles formed by the incident, refracted and reflected rays. Here the device is mounted with a semi-circular prism. |

Application |
| Examples of application |
This optical test apparatus is used to study the behaviour of light passing through a diopter.
It was used by future teachers in their studies at the Men's and Women's teacher training schools in Clermont-Ferrand, now the IUFM (University Teacher Training Institute). |
