Portrait of Thales of Miletus, considered the first philosopher of the Western history. He founded the Ionic School that anticipated the out-and-out scientific research; for this reason he can be considered the precursor of the study of all the sciences. He studied, in fact, quite all the knowledge investigating in a “modern” way, that is to say trying to understand the “phisical” explanations of the phenomena.
