Morillo Farfán, José (1876 - 1942)

He was a Spanish Engineer and professor in electricity at the School of Engineering in Madrid. He wrote several books on electricity and represented Spain in several international congresses on electricity.

José Morillo Farfán was born in Spain in 1876. He graduated in 1899 as an Engineer at the School of Industrial Engineers of Barcelona. En 1900 he went to the Montefiore Institute (Belgium) to study electricity. He returned to Spain in 1901 and worked as an inspector for electricity counters. In 1907 he started to work as a professor at the Madrid Central School of Industrial Engineers. From 1919 to 1939 he was the director of the school. In 1931 he published the book Curso de Electrotecnia (Electricity Course). It was widely used in Spain. Between 1912 and 1942 he represented Spain in several international congresses on electricity. He died on February 11th in 1942.
