Felix Boix y Merino was an engineer born in Barcelona, Spain on May 26th in 1858. He directed many important Spanish railway companies.
Felix Boix y Merino was born in Barcelona, Spain on May 26th in 1858. In 1881 he obtained the degree in Engineering at an age of 23 years old. That same year, he started to work for the government. He moved to Madrid and in 1895 he started to work as a director for the Railway Company of the Madrid-Cáceres-Portugal line. In 1896 he is named the Technical Director of the company. He made important improvements in this line such as the Salamanca Train Station. In 1904 he resigned and started to work for the Compañía Ferroviaria del Norte (North Railway Company) the biggest company in Spain by that time. In 1908 he is named director. By 1920 he was the CEO. He continued to occupy executive positions within the company meanwhile he dedicated also to the study of graphical arts. He died on May 11th in 1932.
