Disk a contacts tapered disk b which is rigidly mounted on shaft 2 and rotates about fixed axis B-B. Shaft 1 can be set in various positions by adjusting motor 3 along fixed slot e and clamping with bolt 4. Disks a and b are pressed together by nut and lock nut f. The transmission ratio i₁₂ from shaft 1 to shaft 2 depends on the position of shaft 1 which determines the radii of the contact circles on disks a and b.
