Rotaeche Velasco, Ignacio (1888 - 1951)

Ignacio Rotaeche Velasco was an engineer born in Vitoria in 1888. He directed the projects for the construction of the drawbridges of Bilbao. He also was a political figure.

Ignacio Rotaeche Velasco was born in Vitoria, Spain on January 2nd in 1888. In 1910 he obtained a scholarship to study in USA. When he returned that same year, he worked for the Public Construction council of the Estate. In 1916 he married to Juana Chalbaud Amann. In 1935 he is named chief engineer but since 1931 he worked on the construction of the drawbridge of Deusto. He died in 1951.
