I.I. Vulfson, Professor for engineering design and expert in dynamics problems of cyclic machines with regular structure and the vibrations of mechanical systems with nonstationary and nonlinear constraints
Iosif Isaakovich Vulfson - Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Honorary Academician of the Engineering Academy of the Kazakhstan Republic.
After graduating from the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute, he worked as an engineer in the design offices of polygraphic machines and machine-tool industry (1956-1963).
From 1963 he was working at the Saint Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design. He defended the theses on the extents of candidate (1963) and doctor of Technical Sciences (1970).
From 1991 to 2004 he headed the Department of Theory of Mechanisms and Machines.
He is a known expert in dynamics problems of cyclic machines with regular structure and the vibrations of mechanical systems with nonstationary and nonlinear constraints. Has authored over 500 scientific papers, two handbooks, 14 textbooks and 12 monographs published in Russia, Germany and the United States.
He is a member of the Scientific and Methodological Council on the theory of mechanisms and machines by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russian Federation. He is also a member of the editorial boards of several scientific journals.
