This pump consists of three sets of vanes superposed in the well, the whole apparatus, pipe and all, being supposed to rotate together, the apparent object being to enable a total lift equal to three times the atmospheric limit to be obtained, as the pump is, of course, only one which can lift water by suction, the water drawn up by the first vane being delivered to the suction of the second one, and so on.
