Crank 1 rotates about fixed axis A. Slot a of slotted link 7 moves along slider 3 which turns about fixed axis B. Connecting rod 8 is connected by turning pairs C and D to slotted link 7 and piston 2 which slides in fixed cylinder b. When crank 1 rotates, piston 2 reciprocates. The piston stroke is adjusted by screw device 4 which varies the distance E͞B. The screw is turned by bevel gears 5 and 6.
