Description
The mechanism is intended for resolving a vector along coordinate axes in the plane of action of the vector. The translational displacements of slides 6 and 7 are proportional to the components along the coordinate axes of a vector preset by the distance from the centre of gear 4 to the axis of pin 5, and by the angle of rotation of disk 4. The setting is made with pin 5 mounted on slider 8 which is connected by a screw pair to screw 1. The magnitude and angle of inclination of the vector to be resolved are entered into the mechanism by bevel gears 2 and 3, and a gear train (not shown) which turns gear 4. $2491$LrG,MO$
