Description
Bushing 2 and lever 3 are keyed on shaft 8 which rotates about fixed axis A. Gear 1 carries pins a and is freely mounted on shaft 8 and meshes with gear 10 keyed on shaft 9, which rotates about fixed axis B. When shaft 8 rotates, lever 3 periodically lifts pawl 4, thereby releasing gear 1. At this, bushing 2, by means of friction lining 5 (tightened by clamp 6) and pins 7, turns gear 1 through a certain angle depending upon the distance between adjacent pins a. Thus, when shaft 8 rotates continuously, shaft 9 rotated intermittently with dwells whose length is determined by the arrangement of pins a. $2615$PG,D$
