The professor José María Bastero was born in Bermeo (Bizkaia), Spain, in 1942. He is a PhD. Naval Engineer and Industrial Engineer. He has been the principal of the Superior School of Industrial Engineers of San Sebastián, principal of the CEIT research center and Dean of the University of Navarra. He has published several scientific articles and directed PhD. Thesis in the field of mathematical models applied to mechanics and fracture problems. Additionally, he has conducted research at the Imperial College of London and the Oxford University.
