Adrián Álvarez Ruiz was a Spanish inventor. He invented an air-regeneration device for submarines.
Adrián Álvarez Ruiz was born in Palencia in 1884. He moved to Madrid seeking a job. In 1932 he was the Machine Shop chief at the MZA company, nowadays Renfe. He designed and built an air-regeneration device for submarines which he intended to patent. On October 20th in 1932 a major exhibition was carried on and the engineering service of the Spanish Army resulted interested among several international companies. He died in 1950.
