Hesse, Ludwig Otto (1811 - 1874)

Ludwig Otto Hesse has been professor of mathematics in Königsberg, Heidelberg and Munich. He introduced the Hesse matrix and its determinant and Hesse's normal form of a level. Besides the asteroid (25029) Ludwighesse is named after him.
