Algué, José María (1856 - 1930)


 
Spanish meteorologist and Jesuit, inventor of the barocyclometer and the nephoscope

He studied church since 1781, entered the Society of Jesus and being priest began his science studies. He was a pupil of Faura and directed the meteorological observatory in Manila. Representative of the Spanish and U.S. governments at various conferences and in various universal exhibitions, invented the barocyclonnometer, marine use device that warns of the presence of a cyclone, a nephoscope and a kind of microseismograph. He published numerous works concerning the climate and the meteorology.
