The general rolling motion is composed of pure rolling and pure drilling. The example of Wülfel ball gear, the angular velocity components in the various friction points are shown (see figure). In the position shown in all three contact surfaces other than the pure rolling of a more or less pronounced drilling movement exists. Pure is at cone rolling bodies only possible if the rotation axes intersect the body and touching the surface line of the contact surface at a common point.
