The machine of B.John in Arnswalde and V. wiper in Stargard were good copies of the earlier Claytonschen machine, in which the cylinder was in the flue socket, an arrangement which is only slightly by Clayton applied. The arrangement and design of the machine with two cylinders by JD Barrett is a most excellent, the valve chest located in the middle between the two cylinders, with this cast in one piece, so that the crankshaft is not much longer than that of Maschie with a cylinder.
