Description
The lengths of the links comply with the conditions: O͞E=O͞F=n, C͞G=G͞B, A͞B=D͞C= a, C͞B=A͞D=b and E͞G=G͞F=F͞K=K͞E=m. Figure EGFK is a rhombus linkage and figure ABCD is a crossed-crank linkage. Links 1 and 2 turn about fixed axes A and D. Links 3 and 4 turn about fixed axis 0. If a >b then, when link 1 turns about axis A, point K describes an ellipse with the equation (x²)/((m²-n²)/(a²))+(y²)/((m²-n²)/(a²-b²))=1. |
