Using the screw device to set point D at the distance x₂=D͞D₀ from point D₀, and setting point B of link 4 at the distance x₁=B͞B₀ from point B₀, we obtain the displacement x=C͞C₀ of point C of link 6. Then x=(1/k)x₁ x x₂ where k is a constant dimension of the mechanism. Thus the mechanism multiplies two factors x₁ and x₂.
