The Faculty of engineering of Cagliari was founded in 1939 with the Course in Mining Engineering. Subsequently, in 1950/51, the University opened the Course of in civil engineering. In 1965/66 was opened the degree courses in mechanical engineering and Chemical Engineering
. Today, the Faculty offers a range of degree courses and consists of departments and research centres
