Giovanni Giocondo da Verona, named Fra’ Giocondo was an Italian
friar, architect, antiquary, archaeologist, classical scholar and treatizer. He published the first illustrated edition of “De Architettura” by Vitruvius. In the X liber, about machines, he put a lot of drawing using his knowledge of designer of hydraulic machines and building machines.
