Scientist, philosopher
Pythagoras was an important philosopher and scientist who lived in the VI Century b.C. . Very few is known about his biography and many aspects of his live are legend; it is believed that Pythagoras deeply contributed to prepare the ground of modern science and hence to the mechanics. Pythagoras, in fact, is remembered for having founded the Pytagoric School where the mathematical knowledge and applications to science and mechanics were developed. The school was also a centre for scientific consulting. Pythagoras though that that science an religion were connected and that the science was a way to purify oneself because ignorance was considered by him as a fault.
