One of the contributors of this project was Fancesco Rotundi, Italian Engineer, Officer of the Naval Engineers Corp of the Royal Italian Navy. In 1913 his direction of the rescue and recover of the armoured cruiser S. Giorgio was so appreciated that he was soon included in the team of the main designer of the italian warships.
