Lorraine agronomist and inventor.
Christophe-Joseph-Alexandre-Mathieu de Dombasle, French agronomist and inventor, was born in Nancy in 1777. He made immeasurable contributions to the progress of french agriculture. In 1822, he established an agricultural school and a model farm near Nancy, where he taught the importance of the improved care of livestock. The author of numerous agricultural articles and the inventor of a plow that bears his name, Dombasle died in Nancy in 1843.
