de la Hire, Philippe (1640 - 1718)


Philippe de La Hire was a mathematician, astronomer and French painter. He was a pupil of Girard Desargues, who was a friend of his father, and who introduced him to the projective geometry. De La hire is remembered for his work on geometry and mechanics.
