French physicist and engineer; Coriolis is considered one of the founders of the kinematics as a science
Coriolis brought his classification order and clarity in the term structure of technical and mechanical quantities. Because of his career he contributed to the enrichment of the mathematical-physical model concepts with engineering experience and drew attention to economic criteria. In this way, he took one of the first to transition from natural to technical science model concepts. With the relative movement he created an elegant mathematical tool for treating the motion of machine parts, advanced technical mechanics to the treatment of dynamic problems and applies together with Navier and Poncelet, the founder of a dynamic and energetic teaching machines.
Coriolis provided the first precise definition of kinetic energy and mechanical work, the inertial force discovered by him bears his name.
