Description
When piston 1 is moved downward by the action of fluid delivered to the top end of its piston, its rod, designed as a gear rack, turns pinion shaft 2. Shaft 2 has three toothed portions and its motion is transmitted to columns 3, having rack teeth and rigidly attached to top plate 4. Downward motion of plate 4 clamps workpiece 5. Top plate 4 is raised and workpiece 5 is released in the return stroke of piston 1. |
