Description
When pistons 1 are moved outward by the action of fluid delivered between them, floating brake shoes 2, which do not have rigid supports, are forced against brake drum 3 to perform the braking operation. Shoes 2 are held together by two extension springs 4 and bear against inserts 6 of pistons 1 which have flanges that rest upon the end faces of cylinders 5. At its outer end, one of each set of two pistons 1 has attached fork 7 in whose slot sprocket 8 with eccentric trunnions can slide.
