Funktion This scale features a horizontal beam, to which are attached two brass pans. A needle fixed to the beam points upwards, and indicates when the scale is in equilibrium. The beam rests on a knife-edge, which is part of a metal stand. The pans are balanced by a set of rods located under the stand.
 

Anwendung
Anwendungsbeispiele This device is used to measure weights.
It was used by future teachers during their studies at the men’s and women’s teacher training colleges, now the IUFM (University Teacher Training Institute) in Clermont-Ferrand.
