This is an electric calculating machine operating on 110 volts with a 9-figure input register, a 12-figure counter and a 13-figure totalizer. It derives directly from the original Odhner machines, although the drive crank has been replaced by the electric motor.
Input is mechanical via the cursors, with from right to left the units, tens, hundreds, etc. Then the user pulls the lever on the left to obtain the result. The cursors do not turn during operation. A bell informs the operator when the machine’s capacity is exceeded. The crank and the thumbwheel on the right are used to re-set the machine. A lever at the front enables the carriage, which remains inside its housing, to be positioned.
It can perform the four basic operations, with multiplication by repeated additions. |
