Giorgini, Gaetano (1795 - 1874)

Teacher

Gaetano Giorgini was professor at Università di Firenze e Pisa in the period before 1850 by carrying out activity for teaching and research mainly with works on mathematics among which relevant are those on kinematics and statics. He was pupil of the Ecole Polytechncique in Paris where he establish a long friendship with l Michel Chasles. He was a personality of reference in his time within regional frames because of a recognized reputation of his works that still today are considered of fundamental importance in theoretical kinematics.
