Romanian University
University of Craiova is a prestigious institution of Romanian higher education, is a part of the European academic community, sharing its cultural, moral, educational and scientific values.
Since its founding in 1947, the University of Craiova assumed the mission to contribute to the development of knowledge, science and national culture, their integration in world heritage. Competition acceptance and participation in the exchange of values, allowed the selection and consolidation of a valuable teaching staff, competent and generous trainer of scientific and cultural elites, now consisting of over 1,000 teachers.
During its existence, the University of Craiova has evolved into a complex structure that includes today 16 faculties and 14 doctoral schools. Educational offer comprises 47 areas for bachelor studies, with 85 specializations and 42 master programs with 84 specializations.
University of Craiova provides excellent training conditions to it’s over 31 000 of his students in all levels of higher education (Bachelor, Master, Doctoral) and forms of education (frequency, low frequency, distance).
University of Craiova constantly encouraged scientific research and favored academic meetings. University and universality went together, there is the belief that no science, worthy of its name, can not thrive if its usage exceeds local, to serve the world.
Believing that the European Higher Education Area and European Scientific Research Area are the main pillars of society based on knowledge, University of Craiova actively participate in the Bologna Process, having European vocation through convergence of curricula, thematic scientific research and openness to academic collaborations.
