Structura mecanismului
Funcţie This apparatus comprises a metallic stirrup (which can be attached to a support) with a rotating shaft (mounted on ball bearings) for the mobile part. The latter is composed of a rod on which a mass (1kg) can slide, to be immobilised at a known distance from the axis.
 

Aplicaţie
Exemple de aplicare This device enables the study of the pendulum movement of the rod around an axis at a specific angle from the vertical. The fact that its axis is inclinable enables the indirect study of the influence of gravity on the pendulum’s period. It was used by future teachers during their studies at the men’s and women’s teacher training colleges, now the IUFM (University Teacher Training Institute) in Clermont-Ferrand.
