He was an important entrepreneur born in Santurce (Biscay), Spain on August 12th in 1905. He believed in innovation as a principle and modernized the energy plants.
José María de Oriol y Urquijo was born on August 12th in 1905 in Santurce, Spain. In 1928 he graduated in Industrial Engineering in Madrid. After finishing his studies he entered to Hidroeléctrica Española. Two years later he became a member of the executive commission of the company. In 1941 he is named president and he performed several innovations and modernizations of the energy plants. In1957 he created Centrales Nucleares S.A., a company dedicated to analyze and prepare Nuclear Power Plants projects. In 1962 he founded the Spanish Atomic Forum and during 1966-1967 he was president of that organization. He died on November 4th in 1985.
