Farina, Giovanni Battista (nickname Pininfarina) (1893 - 1966)


 
Founder

Giovan Battista Farina was an Italian automobile designer, the founder of the Carrozzeria Pininfarina coachbuilding company, a name associated with many of the best-known postwar sports cars. His nickname, "Pinin" (the youngest/smallest (brother), in Piedmontese), referred to his being the baby of the family.

1952 He started collaborate with Ferrari Company
1959 He retired and left the company to his son and son-in-law
1961 He officially changed his surname in Pininfarina
† 1966 Lausanne died
