Moccia, Antonio (1953 - )


 
Professor

Antonio Moccia is an Italian Professor that carries on his researces in international environment. From 2001 to 2007 was president of the consortium university-company CO.RI.S.T.A. (Consorzio for Researces on Advanced Tele-survey Sistems) attending to the research and to the development of the ASFALTO (Altimetry System For Automatic Landing and Take-Off) system that was devoted to the integration and the tests in flight of laser systems and radar altimeters integrated with the GPS/INS units for the automatic landing of the system MiniSAR; the latter was the first Italian interferometric operating in X band for topographical applications. From 2005 he is principal investigator in the research program Autonomous Systems for in flight obstacles survey and identification (project TECVOL of the CIRA by PRORA National Program of Aerospace Research) funds, having the responsability of the electro-optic/radar system for the "Sense and Avoid".
