Forlanini, Enrico (1848 - 1930)


 
Inventor, designer

Enrico Forlanini was an italian engineer, inventor and aeronautical pioneer. Forlanini is well known for his works on helicopters, aircraft, hydrofoils and dirigible. His older brother Carlo was a famous Italian physician twice nominated for the nobel prize in medicine.

1877 First flight of a steam helicopter built by Forlanini
1900 - 1906 He study of airships
1905 He built the first efficient manned hydrofoil ship
1909 First flight of the Airship "Leonardo da Vinci" built by Forlanini
† 09.10.1930 Milano died
