Founder
Luigi Orlando was an italian naval engineer and a politician. He was director of Genua shipyards and Ansaldo Factory in Sampierdarena. In this period Ansaldo focused its production on war machines ans specially guns. In 1866 he bought an historical shipyard in Livorno and founded “Cantieri navali Orlando”.
