Bruns, Heinrich (1848 - 1919)

Mathematiker und Astronom

Bruns studied mathematics, physics and astrony from 1866 till 1871 in Berlin. One of his teachers was Weierstrass. He dealt with theoretical aspects of the Earth's figure and contributed to the potential theory. He did significant research in the field of geodesy, the Brun's polyeder is named after him.
