Italian university professor, machine designer and kinematician
Francesco Masi addressed his attention to TMM but also to the fields of Hydraulics, Technical Drawing, Mechanics of Agricultural Machines by developing teaching activity in Technical Colleges and at Bologna University. His main contribution, still of modern significance, can be recognized in the rigorous systematization of Reuleaux classification of mechanisms together with an analytical approach for analysis and synthesis of mechanisms. He has also contributed in standardization of Technical Drawings and development of Agricultural Machines. His work has been an inspiration for many generations in Italy and still is considered as an interesting source.
