Romanian Professor
Maties Vistrian is professor since 1995. He teaches the courses Mechanisms for fine mechanics, Mechanisms for mechatronics, Mechatronics. Since November 2000 Vistrian Maties is the head chief of the Department Mechanisms, Precision Mechanics and Mechatronics.
He is an active promoter of mechatronics philosophy in Romania as he coordinated the first mechatronics treaties elaboration. Professor Maties published 7 books or course and over 100 scientific papers in various fields, such as robotics, mechatronics and mechanisms. He took active part in development of over 40 research contracts. He coordinated as general manager a number of three grants with the World Bank. Professor Maties also owns 9 technical patents. He gained extensive experience in international scientific collaboration. This expertise came along with study and documentation stages at prestigious universities in Japan, USA and western European countries as well as through participation at international scientific events.
Professor Maties is active member of a large series of professional or scientific associations, among which there are IFToMM (International Federation for Science of Machines and Mechanisms), AGIR (General Association of Engineers in Romania), ARoTMM (Romanian Association for Machine and Mechanisms Theory), ARR (Robotics Association of Romania), AMFOR (Association for Precision Mechanics and Optics of Romania), SROMECA (Romanian Society for Mechatronics - founder member) SNIMTB (National Society for Medical Engineering and Biological Technology - founder member).
