Scientist, military and inventor of the submarine known as Peral Submarine
The main achievement of Isaac Peral was the invention of the first submarine of the history. The dimensions of the submarine were 22 m long, 2.76 m depth, 2.87 m wide. It was capable of moving 77 T on the surface and 85 T on immersion. The propulsion of the submarine was obtained from two electric motors of 30 CV each, whose power was provided by a battery of 613 elements. It also included a torpedo tube, three torpedoes, periscope and the sophisticated "device depth", which allowed the submarine to navigate under water depth coordinate desired by their commander and maintain the control and drive of the ship at all times, even after launching torpedoes. Isaac Peral also designed all the necessary mechanisms to navigate to the course fixed diving. The beginnings of the Peral Submarine were hard, but thanks to the support of the Queen Regent Maria Cristina, the submarine was finally launched in 1888. However, despite the successful testing of the ship, the authorities rejected the invention and encouraged a smear campaign against the inventor. Finally, he left the Spanish Navy and successfully founded many companies according to her specialty, the efficient use of the electricity.
