INDUCTANCE PICK U P MECH AN ISM OF A D YN AM OG RA PH

The pickup consists of two cores rig id ly attached to each other.
Each core has its w in d in g and the two w indings, 1 and 2, cons
titute a reactance coil. The displacement of armature <3, located
between the cores of windings 1 and 2, depends upon force F
to be measured. When armature 3 is displaced to the left, the
inductance of w in d in g 1 is increased and th at of w ind in g 2 is
reduced due to the changes in the air gaps between armature 3
and the two cores. The pickup is connected into an a -с bridge
circuit th a t includes resistors 4 for balanc ing the^ bridge, d iode
5, capacitor 6 and resistor 7 for smoothing the pulsation of
the a lte rn a tin g current, and loop oscillograph 8.
