Description
Ordinary balanced conveyors are necessarily driven at or near the centre of their length. In cases where this is not convenient, they may be driven at one end, as shown in Figs. 156 and 157. In this type the balancing of the conveyor is effected by means of a powerful volute spring, which is compressed and released by one of the cranks and connecting rods, instead of being coupled to one half of the conveyor. |
