These elevators are provided with a single endless malleable chain, fitted
with "claws" about 24 in. pitch, which engage with the shells while resting
upon the wheel - supported path. An electro-motor of 1 H.P. will raise twelve 6-in. shells per minute. The illustrations, Figs. 318 and 320, show two views of the elevator.
